Millennials vs Parents with Money
🏠 “When we were your age, we owned a house!” 🏠 Sí, pero when they were in their 20s, a lotta things were different than it is for millennials vs parents with money. Now, buying 🎟 tickets to see Bad Bunny is like a huge financial decision. And while Bad Bunny knows “pa’ ti soy caro”, your parents don’t get it. 🙇♀️
Your 🎶musical🎶 tastes aren’t to blame! For one thing, @cnbc reported that households with student loan debt doubled from 1998 to 2016. 📈 Just a 1% increase in student debt, decreases the likelihood of owning a home. So, unlike Bad Bunny, no “Estamos Bien.”😩 Plus, millennials are living in cities🏙 longer and renting. Since cities are also less affordable in general, becoming a homeowner has become a lot more tougher.
One other thing @investopedia mentions is that, as Bad Bunny sings, “estar soltera está de moda.”🧍♀️ In 1967, 80% of people lived with either a spouse or partner as compared to less than 60% in 2018. The longer you live with parents or alone, the more homeownership is delayed. AY! 🏠
Pero nothing is impossible! ✨ You can afford una casa AND those Benito tix (as long as they don’t sell out!) with a lil financial savvyness. 💸
