Los Ricos Tambien Lloran
đ° True story: An older Latina mom was hanging out with her daughter and her daughterâs friends from college. They were all watching a đș pay-per-view pelea when one of the daughterâs friends says apropos of nada, âMoney is a burden, I would be much happier without itâ or some such nonsense. To which the mother responded, âYouâve never been poor have you?â She paused for an answer and when she didnât get one, she said âÂĄEntonces callate!â
FYI, both the boxing match and that conversation ended in a knockout. đ„
Itâs easy to say that money doesnât make you happier when youâve always had it and the truth is that although money may not be able to buy or guarantee happiness, having it and knowing how to manage it can definitely make your life easier and less stressful, which in turn can lead to more happiness. đ
So, while studies continue to be conducted on whether or not having more money can make you happier â the most recent studies saying that yeah, money can make you a little bit happier â what we should really all be focusing on is how to grow and maintain our wealth. Then maybe one day none of us will have to wonder if money can make us happier because weâll all have enough of it.
The thing is that in order to be able to grow our wealth we have to develop a healthy relationship with money, which letâs face it isnât easy for a lot of us because weâre ambicultural and grew up with conflicting messages regarding money.
đ€ Por un lado, our parents told us que no se habla de dinero because itâs rude and you shouldnât judge people by how much money they have or make.
đ€ Y por otro lado the general U.S. idea of success is very tied into how much money you make and how much money you have.
No wonder our relationship with money is complicated. Letâs uncomplicate it!
Â
Hereâs la mera verdad about money in 3 parts:
đ” El dinero is a tool đ§ that you can use to help you have more options and choices in life. In order for this tool to be truly useful, you need to learn how to use it to build credit, invest, and save for your retirement.
đ° Having money can help you be happier to some extent because you donât have to stress about covering necessities, but it cannot guarantee you happiness. Donât believe us? Just catch a few episodes of âLos Ricos TambiĂ©n Lloranâ and youâll see what we mean.
đ¶đœ Money does not define your worth because we are all born worthy and no amount of money or lack of can change that.
In conclusion, money is money. Itâs not the key đ to happiness. Itâs not a measure đ of your worth as a human. It doesnât make you a better person. Itâs just money, kind of how like a hammer đš is just a hammer. And just like a hammer can help you build the home of your dreams, money can help you build the future you dream of, but itâs not going to do the work for you because itâs just money.
