Latinos at the Golden Globes
The 2021 Golden Globe nominations 📣 are out and guess how many Latin@s scored nominations? ¡Solo tres! 🤦🏽 UGH, we agree, that’s not enough, but that’s not going to stop us from celebrating Anya Taylor-Joy, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jayro Bustamante for their much-deserved nominations. 🙌🏽
And we’re not just going to celebrate them and their works, we’re going to use their contributions as financial 💰learning lessons. A ver, let’s put the nominees through our SUMA 🕵🏽 financial lens and learn some money tips.
♟️ Anya Taylor-Joy: She’s nominated for her work in “The Queen’s Gambit,” which has got us all inspired to statergize and make money 💵 moves now, that set us up for future success.
💰 Lin-Manuel Miranda: So many financial lessons to be learned from “Hamilton” – Hamilton was the first secretary of the treasury after all – like how we should not throw away our shot and absolutely need to start “thinking past tomorrow.”
Jayro Bustamante: “La Llorona” can be seen as a cautionary tale for those who missed our Dinero Session- Taxes Edition, and end up llorando 😭 a day before taxes are due, but don’t worry we got you , keep checking our website for tax advice.
🎉 Here’s to the three Latin@ Golden Globe nominees! Thank you for representing and paving the way for a truly diverse future.
