Fighting For Your Health and Wealth

Whether you know someone currently fighting breast cancer or has recovered from it, the emotional but also financial toll makes life very complicated. 

This month, we honor all the guerrer@s and take action by creating a safe space for Latin@s to manage a difficult situation like a cancer diagnosis without any financial stress. 

Unfortunately, Latinas on average, earn $0.57 for every dollar paid to White, non-Hispanic men? That means that Latinas lose about $1.1 Million over their careers due to the pay gap (CNBC). Especially after being diagnosed with a potentially terminal disease.

Many of our familias will fall victim to lower wages and hence will be less likely to build multi-generational wealth. 

These are 3 ways the community can create a positive environment so gente can continue to fight not only for their health but also for our wealth. 

1. Share Your Thoughts and Feelings With Others

Having a support system is imperative when getting through a low point in life. Always remember that you are loved and that there are people in your life who are ready to help you. Having intrusive thoughts about health and wealth is normal, but make sure to share them with those closest to you and ask them to keep you accountable and check in on you. 

2. Get Up and Take Action 

Having a big life alteration can throw many into a state of depression. But this is the time that one should use to build new skills or simply focus on things that bring you joy. Who knows, maybe one of your pastimes can bring new business venture ideas or simply make the life of those around you better. The goal here is to create even when you don’t want to! 

3. Reevaluate your Life and Values

Let’s keep a positive mindset here and see this as an opportunity that many people don’t get. Think of this bump on the road as a chance to start a new chapter in your life and become the jefa you want to be.
