Dinero Horror Stories: Credit Card Pending Charges
The scariest thing 👹 when you look at your credit card bill 🗒 is seeing a double charge. Those two charges staring back at you are like las gemelas in “The Shining.” You start to worry about your money. 💰💰 You get stressed about having to make a llamada 📞 to fulana over at Visa.
But don’t be scared. Those are only pending charges. 😅 When you use a credit card machine the money is taken out of your account or put aside right away. This is why it says “Authorized” when you swipe your card at the store. At the end of the day, or sometimes later, ⏳ ⏳ that credit card machine will put through the transactions so that the store can get that money that was put aside.
Your credit card company 💳 or bank will show you these transactions so you know. Oftentimes, these authorizations will fall off your account after a few days. 🕑 But sometimes they can end up on your bill. 🧾 And if you check your account 👀 online you may see them more. Try to think of it like the bank is saying this money is “on hold” 🚫 🚫 🚫 rather than they’re taking it twice.
