Break Up With Your Credit Card

Break Up With Your Credit Card

Latin@s are often accused of being overly dramatic and acting like we’re starring in our own telenovelas 📺, but in a way, we are. Take for example, the drama of paying off our credit card debt 💳. We think it would make for an excellent novela staring meme and telenovela superstar Soraya Montengro playing the part of all of us when we finally put our credit card debt to rest⚰️.

Let us set the escena 🎬:  Soraya is at her debt’s funeral and is refusing to answer any calls on her cell 📵, so her credit card resorts to calling her on a landline 📞. ¡Atrevida! You can only hear what Soraya is saying, but you can imagine that her credit card is trying to remind her of all the supesta good times they had amassing the murdered debt.

“No, from now on things are going to be different between the two of us. The only reason I don’t shut you down is because that would be bad for my credit, but don’t try to tempt me into going back into debt because I WILL CUT YOU ✂️,” threatens Soraya in Spanish.

 And scene! 👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿

That amig@s is how we should all be treating our credit cards. Dramatic? Yes. Overly dramatic? Not even one little bit.
