5 Latino Hacks To Save

Trying to save an extra 10% of money every month seems like it’s a hard task to do. Our money can come and go so quickly that before you even try to save, the money is gone. 😅 Discouragement sets in as you promise yourself that you’ll do better next month. 😤 You might start to believe that saving money is an impossible thing to do. Well, we’re here to tell you that si se puede! 💪 It’s like when you have that long list of chores to do Saturday morning that your madre gave you. It seems impossible, but once you start blasting some Juanes or Los Tucanes de Tijuana, you’ll have it done in no time. 🧹🎧

We’re going to give you a few Latino life hacks that will help you save some extra money and help your money last longer so you can increase your monthly savings by 10%! Stick with these practices and in a few months, your bank account and finances will thank you. 📈

First life hack, recycle and reuse old clothes! 👕👠 We spend a lot of money buying new clothes. As Latinos we have lots of parties we have to go to!  🎊 Your primas graduation party…your abuelos anniversary…the birthday party for your tía’s dog, Firulais. We tend to want to buy new shoes or an outfit to flex on the rest of the familia, but the money we spend here, we could be saving. 💯 We understand wanting to have something new or different to wear, so why not revamp your old clothes or ask others for clothes they don’t wear? Great people to ask are your tíos. Your tío has shirts he doesn’t wear and your tía has dresses she doesn’t wear. They’re probably in boxes ready to be given away to a thrift store. 📦 If you ask them for the clothes they don’t wear, they’ll give them to you, and now you have something new to wear! 🤩

Second, buy off brand products! Here’s a little secret…the store brand products are just as good as the name brand ones. 🥣 Sure, the tiger 🐯 looks a little different on the store brand box of your confleis—but you’re saving money. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters. Next time you shop, buy the off brand products and the extra $5, $10 you save can go straight into your bank account, increasing your savings by 10%.

Lastly, ask your familia for help. Your tíos, primos, and abuelos are a wealth of information and resources. Before you take your car into the shop, talk to your familia to see who knows how to fix a serpentine belt. 🚙 Before you go get your hair dyed, talk to your familia to see who knows how to give you the color you want for Fall. 💇‍♀️ You could easily save yourself $100 by asking your familia for help, and that’s $100 more in your savings. 🤑

Saving extra money doesn’t have to be hard. It just comes with being creative and using the resources you already have. In no time, you’ll be a money saving rey or reina! 👑 Míral@s! 🤩
